Islamabad: All big cities are going to have an urban transport master plan under the national transport policy, a news source reported. The transport policy also includes plans to discourage use of automobiles and instead will promote walking and cycling.
According to details, the federal government will also establish a parking policy to take care of the issue of lack of parking facilities, where plazas and high-rise buildings do not leave any parking space in the premises. Under the transport policy, licenses will be issued to urban public transport by the urban transport authorities.
