CDA approves PKR 40.5 bn budget for 2018-2019

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has passed a budget of PKR 40.5 billion for the fiscal year 2018-2019, on 31st May 2018, according to a news report. This budget was passed during a meeting, headed by the CDA Chairman Usman Bajwa, while the CDA Member Finance presented and briefed the gathering about the budget.
The budget doesn’t provide any allocations for opening of new sectors, whereas PKR 1 billion has been allocated for I-15, which is one of the many delayed sectors in the capital. The allocations have been made as follows; PKR 7 billion for Signal-Free Islamabad Expressway, PKR 500 million for conducting water from the Indus River System, and PKR 500 million for the construction of a grade separation facility where an interchange will also be constructed. Apart from this, PKR 100 million have been allocated for a landfill site project, PKR 100 million for the construction of a culture complex, service roads, and provision of water and sewerage services in F-8, F-9 and Blue Area. It is also being proposed that the CDA will give PKR 6.3 billion to the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).
The new budget includes PKR 10.5 billion in terms of government grants, whereas PKR 23.5 will be generated by CDA itself.
