Rawalpindi: Following the instructions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board sealed 37 illegal water hydrants in the Cant area, reported a news source. To deal with other hydrants set up illegally to sell water, several task-force teams have been formed.
The RCB has formed a vigilance and monitoring system to identify and shut down illegal hydrants set up in many parts of Rawalpindi Cantonment. The board is affirmed that it will not let any illegal hydrant to operate in the area falling under its jurisdiction.
The board has zero tolerance policy for the illegal hydrants and those behind it. The RCB’s operation against illegal hydrants are meant to combat the situation accounting for unequal distribution of water.
