Multan: Multan Mayor Naveed-ul-Haq Arain has issued orders to stop the installation of substandard LED lights in the city, according to a new source. Arain also instructed the firm hired for the project to install lights according to their standard sample and weight.
The PKR 300 million tender for the project was awarded to a Gujranwala-based firm, which also submitted a sample of LED lights to the Multan Municipal Corporation (MMC). Reportedly, the firm started to install substandard lights, on which Arain took notice, and issued orders to the firm to install new lights.
The lights that were being installed by the firm weren’t the same as shown as samples to the MMC, and also weighed two kilograms less than the standard weight.
