Lahore: Lahore District Council has decided to set up Azadi Izhar Park for holding public gatherings, demonstrations, and protests, according to a news source. This park is inspired by London’s Hyde Park, and 10,000 acres of land have been acquired near Sagian Bridge for this project.
Lahore City Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Khurram Niazi visited the park’s site yesterday. Talking to the media, Niazi said that the park will fall under the domain of Lahore Ring Road Authority, while Lahore’s Deputy Commissioner will be its supervisor.
Azadi Izhar Park will have a parking area, a lounge, and an elevated stage. It is expected that the park will prevent the major areas of Lahore from being blockaded through protests and demonstrations.
