Peshawar: The Khyber Contractor Association (KCA) has demanded that the ban placed on development schemes in Federally Administered Tribal Areas be removed, reported a news source. The demands were put forth by the KCA President Badshah Khan in a press conference held in Peshawar Press Club Yesterday.
Khan was joined by the KCA Vice President Fida Muhammad, General Secretary Gul Ahmed and other members including Lal Marjan and Ikhtiar Shah. The association also wants a new schedule rate be issued for these project as the contractors of the Khyber Agency are facing economic crises due to the ban. Khan wants the market rate for schedule (MRC) rate to be issued according the 2018 MRC instead of rates back from 2012.
Hinting at dire repercussions if the associations demand aren’t met, Khan said that the KCA will file a case in the court and also call for a sit-in in front of FATA Secretariat.
