CDWP approves PKR 632 bn worth of development projects

Islamabad: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has cleared off 24 development projects worth PKR 19.6 billion and has referred 12 of these to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further proceedings, reported a news report. The decision was taken during a meeting held on Thursday, where 33 development project were discussed.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Sartaj Aziz and it discussed various projects from different sectors including transport and communication, information technology, environment, water resources, science and technology, nutrition, agriculture and food, physical planning and housing, health, manpower, education and governance.
The approved projects include:
Installation of the pilot battery energy storage system
Dargai Hydroelectric Power Station
Feasibility and detailed design of Baber Kach Dam on Nari River
Chao Tangi Dam in South Waziristan
Land and water monitoring/evaluation of Indus Plan by SMO
Construction of auditorium hall at Pakistan Marine Academy
Extension of Presidential Flats cat-IV & V at Pakistan Marine Academy
Construction of Joint Intelligence Directorate in NACTA Headquarters
Project Reediness Financing for KP intermediate cities improvement investment project
Establishment of NUST campus in Quetta
Construction of hostel and sports facilities at Karakoram International University
Strengthening of University of Peshawar
Academic and Research Linkages with different countries under bilateral agreement
Establishment of Space Application Research Centre in Gilgit Baltistan
Strengthening and up gradation of Agriculture and Livestock research system of Arid Zone Research Institute in Umer Kot Sindh
Establishment of Plant Breeders Rights Registry and Strengthening of DUS Examination system
Installation of weather surveillance radar in Multan
Establishment of Special Protection Unit in AJK
Replacement and up gradation of HVAC plant room equipment and allied works at PIMS
Up gradation of existing facilities of Hepatobiliary and organ transplant centre
Establishment of Sautul Quran FM Network Phase II
Laying of synthetic hockey turf in Gilgit
Establishment of Centre of Excellence at National Training Bureau, NISTE and Heavy Machinery Operators facilities in 13 districts
Establishment of Islamabad Model College for Boys in Pakistan Town
