Multan: Power distribution companies across the city are expected to launch a grand operation against WAPDA defaulters, a news source reported. The action will be taken against private and public defaulters, as well federal and provincial government departments.
The caretaker governments are expected to take all measures against defaulters, including criminal cases against them. Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) teams have already taken action and disconnected the electric connections of a large number of defaulters in the region. Action was taken against people defaulting on amounts between PKR 5,000 and PKR 50,000 in 180 subdivisions of the region.
The MEPCO administration has instructed the operational officers to ensure that recovery targets for the current month are met. It should be noted that the recovery of bills in the first 10 months of current fiscal year was low, so the relevant authorities have been instructed to meet these targets in May and June.
