Karachi: To attend to increasing number of phone calls received by the Online Water Tanker Centre, which was set up only recently, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board Managing Director Khalid Mehmood Sheikh ordered installation of six more telephone lines, reported a news source. During his visit to the centre, Sheikh also took some calls and asked for suggestions regarding the improvement people wish to see incorporated in the facility.
On Tuesday, the centre received 300 calls from people looking to book a water tanker online. On the placed requests, the water board delivered water from various hydrant plants. With six more lines added, the centre will be taking calls via 12 phone lines.
During his visit, Sheikh also indicated that a mobile app will be launched soon for people to order water tankers via smartphones.
