Jubilee Town was launched in 1998 and is a project of Lahore Development Authority (LDA). Located not far from Multan Road, the housing scheme is situated amidst good infrastructure and development. Some of the city’s best housing schemes are also present in the area including Izmir Town, Punjab Government Servant Housing Scheme, LDA Avenue, and Bahria Town. Moreover, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology and the Lahore campus of University of Sargodha can be easily accessed from the housing scheme as well.
This is not all, however: Jubilee Town has the Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Science, while Indus Hospital Punjab is nearby as well. According to Farhan Ali of Lahore Properties, there are three or four schools in the housing scheme and one of these is a campus of Allied School System.
In short, if you are looking to build a home in Lahore, Jubilee Town is one of the options that can be considered. If this piques your interest enough, read on to find out the finer details:
Development, Possession and construction
The housing scheme features 3-marla, 5-marla, 7-marla, 10-marla, and 1-kanal plots. Spread over six blocks, from Block A to Block F, it features wide roads throughout the project, which have all been constructed. These streets measure at least 30 feet in width while the Main Boulevard is 150 feet wide.
All the utilities – gas, electricity, water – are available, according to Ali. A vast variety of other amenities are also available. There is still, Ali explained, some work to be done: parks and mosques, though land is allocated for them, are yet to be constructed. However a lot of development is complete and possession available throughout Jubilee Town. As a result, a large number of houses have already been constructed and families are living there.
Ali explained that a robust commercial area has also been developed in the housing scheme, which includes two plazas and a number of semi-commercial houses along the 150-feet road which are being used for commercial purposes. Finally, Jinnah Mall located in Izmir Town is not far either.
Price Trends
While the prices had decreased slightly last year, they have been pretty much stable for more than half a year, according to Ali. This is to be expected since investors don’t play a particularly active role in the housing scheme and prices rise or fall very minutely. Below are the prices as they currently stand:
Plot Size | Prices in PKR |
3 marla | 2,600,000—3,300,000 |
5 marla | 3,900,000—5,000,000 |
7 marla | 4,000,000—5,500,000 |
10 marla | 5,000,000—7,000,000 |
1 kanal | 8,000,000—20,000,000 |
Should you consider Jubilee Town?
Apart from its good location and a decent commercial area, its prices are not particularly high, and the residential plots are priced well, according to Ali. Moreover, the prices are currently low and stable primarily because of the current political situation, he explained, so it might not be a bad idea to buy a plot there right now.
