Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court’s special bench has directed the provincial government to draft an extensive master plan under Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), according to a news report. These directives have come from a special bench comprising of Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Ijaz Anwar, who have asked for all details to be finalised within six months, during which time no construction can be carried out in the area. The deputy commissioner and district police officer of Mansehra are to assist the KDA in this work.
The final bylaws will be forwarded to the local government departments for notification and implementation within 60 days of receipt of the decision. The court’s order states that the KDA needs to impose Conservancy User Charges and Fees on Link Road i.e. Shogran Road, Saif ul Maluk Road and Lalazar Road. The court has also directed the district and sessions judges of Mansehra to ensure that all cases relating to the KDA should be listed before a senior civil judge, a senior additional district judge, and a sessions judge for further direction.
These measures are being taken to preserve the natural beauty of the area.
