MoU to tackle Gwadar’s water shortage

Quetta: The Balochistan government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese company for the provision of clean water to the residents of Gwadar, according to a news report. The MoU was signed by Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and China Overseas Holdings Limited Chief Executive Zhang Baozang in a ceremony.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Bizenjo said that the Chinese company will provide 300,000 gallons of water for Gwadar daily and the cost would be only 80 paisas per gallon. He also said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has provided Balochistan with a chance to develop the province and hoped that it will benefit from the multi-billion dollar project.
