Rawalpindi: Observing the lowering of underground water levels, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has placed a ban on all private tubewells selling water, according to a news report. No new connections will be issued anymore.
In a meeting of President Board of RCB, chaired by Brigadier Shahzad Tanveer where instructions were issued to relevant departments to ensure the recovery of dues. According to details, areas under RCB are getting water of about 9 MGB, the need is 7 MGD, while the areas under Chaklala Cantonment Board is getting about 2 MGD, while the requirements stand at 9 MGD. A total of 16 MGD water is required in the areas under both cantonment boards.
