Production at Pakistan’s largest cement plant begins

Karachi: DG Khan Cement, a prominent cement manufacturer, has started trial production of cement at its 2.6 million-ton plant in Hub, which is the largest facility in the country, according to a news source. The information was shared by DG Khan Company Secretary Khalid Mahmood Chohan via a notification sent to Pakistan Stock Exchange.
According to details, cement production at the Hub plant has begun under a trial run, where the batch is being dispatched to the customers. As a result of this news, the price of DG Khan Cement’s stock dropped by 1%. It is also feared that the high production of cement will initiate a price war in the southern region. This plant will reduce export costs for DG Khan Cement by reducing transportation costs since Hub lies fairly close to Karachi Port.
