Tax defaulters’ accounts frozen, vehicle transfers stopped

Gujranwala: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to freeze tax defaulters’ accounts and to plan a ban on transfer of luxury vehicles, according to a news report. Arrest warrants have also been issued for old defaulters.
FBR has decided to increase the pressure on 200 large industrial units and more than 300 marriage halls to recover PKR 500 million and they have been sent notices to make payments by June 30. Otherwise, the accounts of owners will be frozen. 22 teams have also been formed for the purpose.
FBR has also prepared a list of defaulting individuals in Gujranwala division, and to recover taxes from them, their accounts will also be frozen.
