Karachi: The rate of US dollar came down to PKR 119.5 around midday on Monday, 11th June 2018, after reaching a record-high level of PKR 121 earlier in the same day, according to a news source. The USD came down by PKR 3.88 in the inter-bank market, Forex dealers reported.
The rise to PKR 121 came from its previous rate of PKR 115.63. Experts believe that the sudden increase to the record-high happened because of increasing imports and a widening current account deficit. In March too, US dollar had seen a similar appreciation of rates when the US dollar had risen by PKR 4.93 to stand at PKR 115.63.
