Work on OLMT project completed by 90%

Lahore: Development work on the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project has been completed by over 90%, a news source quoted the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) General Manager Salman Hafeez. Hafeez was briefing Lahore Commissioner Abdullah Sumbal on the project, which was also attended by Chinese dignitaries.
Addressing the meeting, Hafeez said that development work on OLMT Package-I which runs between Dera Gujran and Chouburji, has been completed by 94%, while under Package-II that connects Chouburji with Ali Town, the work is 85% complete.
He further said that the development work on Depot near Dera Gujran is complete by 89% while that on Staling Yard near Ali Town is done by over 91%. In addition to that, electrical and mechanical work on the project is 75% complete.
Hafeez also added that 73 out of 77 escalators had been installed in Package-I, and 68 out of 80 had been installed in Package-II. Similarly, work on completing the installation of elevators and platform screen doors at each package is also nearing completion. The meeting was also informed of the construction of road from Mall Road to Chowk Nabha and boundary walls of GPO and Saint Andrew’s Church are also expected to be completed soon.
