CDA to demolish illegally constructed marriage halls

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is planning on demolishing illegally constructed marquees and marriage halls in different areas of Islamabad, according to a news report. In this regard, the CDA Building Control Section has issued notices to owners of marquees and wedding halls in sectors H-13, G-12, and H-13, along with those on Kashmir highway and in Bani Gala.
These notices have come after Islamabad Capital Development Zoning Regulations 1992 have clearly specified that no wedding hall or a marquee can be constructed in sectors H and G. The CDA spokesperson Malik Saleem has said that notices have been issued to the marquees and marriage halls, and that as soon as the time for regularisation lapses, strict action would be taken.
