Islamabad: Various projects under the umbrella of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be adding 17,000 MW of electricity to the national grid, according to a news report. This was revealed at a top level meeting on Tuesday, which was presided over by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister Office expressed that CPEC would greatly contribute to the socio-economic improvement of lesser-developed areas of the country. The attendees of the meeting were also briefed about various projects related to the energy sector, infrastructure, industrial cooperation, and the development of Gwadar. Officials present in the meeting stated that Abbasi will be visiting China soon, where he will sign agreements for various energy projects.
