Faizabad’s illegal bus terminals demolished

Islamabad: Following the orders of Islamabad High Court, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) official demolished Illegal bus terminals in Faizabad, reported a news source. The operation was carried out on Thursday.
According to news sources, the ICT administration had directed the officials of Regional Transport Authority to take strict measures against the violators. The operation was supervised by the ICT Assistant Commissioner Waseem Khan. Using heavy machinery from a private contractor, all illegal encroachments were removed.
The demolished terminals included bus stands of Faisal Movers, Islamabad Express, Raja Travel, Frontier Punjab and Al-Makkah Travels. The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Enforcement Directorate was previously not involved in the opening phase of the operation, but joined in later on. The owners of these bus terminals believe that they’ve been wrongly labelled as encroachers, because they had established their terminals on private land.
A few weeks prior to this, the CDA carried out a major clearing operation where the green belt was removed off of bus stands.
