Government should remove outdated basic tax rate of 15%: GCAC

Quetta: The Government Contractors Action Committee (GCAC) has asked the government to remove the decades’ old basic tax rate of 15%, along with rejecting the provincial annual Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), according to a news report.
The GCAC members spoke at the Quetta Press Club on 17th May 2018 and said that under the 18th Amendment, the provincial government is already collecting taxes, but now the Baluchistan Revenue Authority will collect another 15% basic tax rate which is sure to dampen the economic prospects of the region. The GCAC has also added, saying that they will approach the Supreme Court for a plea against the injustice that they are facing.
