Rawalpindi: The Cantonment Board Rawalpindi has given property tax defaulters in Saddar a deadline of May 31 to clear off their dues, according to a news report. The board, which is to collect PKR 140 million from the defaulters, stated that properties of owners not adhering to the deadline will be sealed off.
On Bank Road itself, property taxes worth PKR 15 million are due. Teams have been allocated for the recovery operation regarding these dues and have been directed to present a daily recovery report. According to the spokesperson, the assistance of unions has also been enlisted for taking action against these defaulters.
The properties of tax defaulters which were sealed in the past will be allowed to open again once the dues have been paid. And if defaulters miss the May 31 deadline, their status as property tax defaulters shall be publicized through banners and advertisements giving their names and details of their properties.
