Sher Shah Suri Road to have three flyovers

Karachi: The federal government will start work on the construction of flyovers at three different intersections on Sher Shah Suri Road under the Karachi package, according to a news report. The intersections include Sakhi Hassan Chowrangi, Five Star Chowrangi and KDA Chowrangi. These three are expected to be completed by January 2019.
These development projects are being announced as per the PKR 25 billion allocated by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on 12th August. The construction of these flyovers comes at a cost of PKR 2.3 billion.
When these are constructed, a signal-free corridor spanning over 15 kilometres will be built to smooth out traffic from Abdullah Morr in Surjani Town to Lasbela.

The Karachi Infrastructure Development Company Limited (KIDCL) will be carrying out work on this, along with the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit project. KIDCL Finance Manager Zubair Ahmed Channa has highlighted that these will be built on both sides of existing flyovers alongside the Green Line buses. The process for inviting tenders for this has already been initiated, and construction will be completed within the next 12 months.
