Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has taken suo motu notice of the water shortage in all four provinces, according to a news report. A bench headed by the CJP will hear cases regarding dams and water shortage in all four provincial capitals from the next week onwards.
The CJP will hear the case related to water shortage in Islamabad on 7th June. Notices have been served to the Attorney General, Advocate General Islamabad, Mayor Islamabad, Chief Commissioner, and the CDA Chairman on the matter.
The CJP was hearing a petition related to water shortage and construction of a new dam. He stated that water shortage is one of the biggest issues and he will hear all pending cases related to the matter.
